more inside a single box the size of a couple of books - an
internet-enabled computer.

BibleGateway.com
Bible Gateway is an online Bible in many translations, and so much more. You will find commentaries, Biblical language resources, images, sound clips and countless Bible study helps here. If only the great theologians of the past had so much Biblical study right at their fingertips for free!
EBSCO Periodical Database Search
Our students have access to EBSCO's periiodical search database, through our subscription to their service. Students can log in to SPARKY, and view the library section for a direct link to EBSCO. If you know the Vanguard College username and password you can also log in to EBSCO here.
An essential research tool. Simply type in what you seek and Google will serve up millions of pages, sorted by relevancy (thank goodness!). This is a great first-stop on the road to deeper online research. Just remember that being online doesn't make something true. Always check your sources.
Google Books
Google has undertaking the task of digitizing a huge amount of books, and making them searchable. Try out what may be the future or libraries.
Wikipedia
Branded as a free encyclopedia, wikipedia has grown into a vast online resource. The articles are contributed, checked and managed by users around the globe in real time, so you will find this to be one of the most expansive, rapidly updated encyclopedias in the world.
