Karla Budgell – Registrar

Since graduating from Vanguard College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology (Music Major), I have been working in different positions within the Academic Department.  I have been the registrar since September 2009 and have the pleasure of serving students with their academics from the time they are accepted until they walk the line at graduation.  When I’m not at work, you’ll probably find me consuming coffee, playing piano, camping (well in the summer…), or working on my own homework for my Masters. In any case, I find great joy in helping students succeed in whatever they do.

Joy Dodd – Associate Recruitment Director

I love working in Recruitment and have had the privilege of doing so since September 2009, just a few months after graduating from the Bachelor of Arts degree here at Vanguard (Pastoral Major). I’m originally from Ontario, but Edmonton has been my home for the past five years.  I love traveling, and I do a lot of it in this job!  I really enjoy meeting new people and sharing what God has done in my life through Vanguard, and hope to inspire others to follow His leading; whether it be here or elsewhere, it is great to see young people following after God.  I also appreciate laughing with good friends, random road trips, camping, staying up all night (although this is proving more difficult the older I get), dried mango, and almost any sugar product.  If you like Back to the Future, The Cosby Show, or The Office, we will get along just fine!

Nova Nygren – Recruitment Assistant

I have been working in the recruitment department since 2008 and I am currently in my fourth year of Intercultural Studies at Vanguard.  I love being able to play a small part in the lives of so many amazing students that are following after the call that God has placed on them.  One of the best parts about working here is meeting tons of awesome new people everywhere the job takes me!   I love travel, adventure, road trips, the ocean, good cups of coffee, and crunchy grapes. I don’t really have any hobbies, but I am always up for a chat in any fabulous coffee shop.
