Whether you are looking for one year of mission and discipleship foundation or four years of theological missions training SWD will train and prepare you for your future in missions wherever your feet may take you, in Canada or around the world.

Your Missions education will occur not only in the classroom but in places such as Canada's rural North, Vancouver's Urban Downtown East Side, churches across Alberta, and as far away as Asia. Each of these experiences will reveal a unique part of God's world to you and better equip you to leave a lasting impact on the world around you.

God has called this generation to be a generation of world changers ... If your desire is to reach the people of the nations for Jesus, then consider the missions programs at Vanguard's School of World Discipleship!

"My SWD Story "

As part of HMS we had the wonderful opportunity to do youth ministry at several different churches in and around Edmonton. These nights were    always fun. They began by throwing ourselves into the crowd and getting to know the youth in a matter of minutes. Many times this happened while kicking a soccer ball in the gym or hanging in and around the kitchen. As the evening progressed we led into a time of worship and then performed dramas and shared testimonies.

My favourite part was hearing the youth’s stories, having them share where they’re coming from and encouraging them in their faith. God has used our team to make an  impact, and we have been richly blessed in return.

- Vicki Guthrie (HMS, 2008-2009)

The chance to go to the Philippines was an eye opening experience for us all. When we got off the bus and met the people at Noah's Ark Children's Home, we saw unconditional love and kindness from the kids. It's hard to remember that these kids have not known the love of a parent fully. The week we spent in the Philippines showed me a lot about the things in life that really matter. We performed dramas over and over and I saw how a simple five minutes can change a life. We were sent to encourage them, but instead we came back being encouraged by them.

-Janelle Royer (HMS 2008-2009)
