HMS - His Majesty's Service

Built on the premise that "Service begins before graduation", HMS emphasizes simultaneous study and field ministry. The practical component of the course is carried in both a local church setting (throughout the program - September through March) and in concerted short-term outreach endeavors, primarily realized through cross cultural ministry abroad. The HMS program enables the student to learn how to minister by doing - effectively combining education and experience.

Credits earned from the HMS program may be transferred as core or elective credits if the student should wish to continue in other programs at Vanguard!

Students completing the HMS program should:
· Be equipped to give local church leadership in practical, personal evangelism outreach, and to lead in the discipling of new converts made in such evangelism.
· Have developed a "burning heart" for missions that will manifest itself in further vocational training in that area, or in a strong tangible support for missions projects.

Vanguard College is pleased to announce its new Institute of Language. We feel that studies in TESOL and foreign languages will open
doors and prepare our students for careers in ministry both around the globe and at home.

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages can be an intimidating idea to even willing individuals. With careful training and
experience TESOL can be a tremendous tool that can be used to share your faith with someone of another language group.
