Student Life in the School of World Discipleship
What
do you get when you take 20-some students, throw them into a program
of intense ministry, worship and drama training and practice, cram them
into mini-vans and cargo vans, send them around Alberta and then to China
for 6 weeks?
You get community that lasts.
In SWD there are exciting class times, camping trip, barbeques, Christmas parties, ministry outings and mission trips that you will never forget. The School of World Discipleship galvanizes relationships through ministry, and a lot of fun too!
Community Life Groups
Every Vanguard student becomes part of a Community Life Group, meeting for about an hour each week. These small groups or men or women serve as a sounding board when you have a tough week, prayer support, encouragement, discussion groups and just plain relaxation and fun time. What your group will do depends on what your interests are, but the goal of fellowship and prayer remain the standard.

In SWD, we have TONS of exciting Student Life Events throughout the year. These include ...
SWD Retreat (each fall)
- Start off the year with a thrilling … and perhaps freezing weekend as all SWD students head off to Jasper for a camping trip that is sure to bring us closer together and closer to God.

Ministry Events
- Our first year ministry program HMS travels around Alberta two weekends a month…going to various churches to minister to children, youth, adults and seniors.
- Our 2nd, 3rd and 4th years travel one weekend a semester to local Alberta churches.

Phusio Cup (soccer tournament vs. the SPL program)
- A long time battle rages between the SPL program and the SWD program with both longing to be the winner of the cherished cup. You won’t want to miss the epic battle.
