We realize that leaving
home to come to College is a big step. Especially when going from small town
to big city, or changing provinces. We’ve created the SecondHome Initiative
to make that transition easier.
We have always had a positive, “family” or “home” atmosphere
at Vanguard, but now we are kicking it up a notch. Or ten.
Here are some highlights
of what SecondHome means practically.
+ Free airport pick-up (for out of province students)
+ A $10 long-distance phone card at registration (for out of province students)
+ Move-in help from the “10-or-so Small Faculty With Big Hearts Moving
Co.” (for non-Edmonton residents)
+ An on-staff housing coordinator to help you find a place to live nearby (click
here to contact the housing coordinator)
+ Free bi-monthly shuttle to the grocery store
+ Library-to-Home SafeWalk program
+ Access to bus information, city information and more through the enrollment
office
And these are just the start. We want to make Vanguard your home-away-from home
while you are here, while still keeping you connected to your actual home , because
we know we can never replace that.
For students, this means added convenience
and an easier transition to independent living.
For parents, this means added peace of
mind and security, knowing that your student will be welcomed and cared
for, from the moment they step off the plane.
It’s all a part of Vanguard’s SecondHome Initiative – just
one more way Vanguard College is leading the way in developing innovative Spirit-filled
leaders for Canada and the World.
