Bachelor of Theology in Pastoral Care & Counselling
The Pastoral Care & Counselling would enable a graduate to serve in any ministry position that requires them to give pastoral care or counselling to people. This can include supervision, teaching, speaking, and group or team leading. Possibilities would be any pastoral position including - especially overseeing support group ministries (Divorce Care, Single parents, mental health, addictions), member care . . . really any ministry in the church (youth, children, women, etc).
Beyond this, other parachurch ministries where this would be extremely helpful would be those that work with marginalized people or any Christian ministry that cares for vulnerable populations. It would also lead nicely into chaplaincy training or masters level programs. A person with this degree would also make a wonderful camp leader; (head counsellor, etc.)
For those wishing to go into chaplaincy or professional counselling ministry, this is an important step to prepare you toward your acceptance for your master’s degree.
