Diploma in Theology (Pastoral Ministry)

This diploma provides a proven path for individuals who are preparing for vocational ministry, allowing them to receive credentials with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.  As with the Bachelor of Arts in Theology (Pastoral Ministry), we are equipping individuals to ‘shepherd the flock of God.’  We seek to instil a deep commitment to being apprentices of Christ Himself, marked by a deep humility that reflects His heart and mind.  Students embark on a journey of discovery, accompanied by practitioners who both model and instruct them how to lead, feed and care for God’s people, with both skill and passion.

From your first week retreat until the good byes of grad day, your pastoral ministry experience will be full of numerous life and ministry highlights. Over the course of 3 years there are multiple ministry assignments where we are allowed the privilege of leading Sunday morning services across Alberta. This provides some significant relationships to be developed. Other highlights include the third year we participate in the Minister’s Gathering of the PAOC in Banff where they are able to participate and engage with pastors from across the ABNWT Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada district.

Classes over the course of the diploma provide an extensive approach to learning and ministry development.  Creative, engaging and interactive would be words that describe the environment that is created by the professors. More than just dispensing information, the Pastoral Leadership program attempts to help students develop critical thinking, wrestling through the scriptures and establishing an approach that reflects those biblical values.  As one alumni stated, Vanguard cannot not teach you everything you need to know but it will teach you the questions that need to be asked.

PLEASE NOTE: This program is under development and will be updated soon
