4 Year Degrees

BA in Intercultural Studies & BA in Theology (Intercultural Studies)

Are you passionate about God’s world?  Do you desire to impact the nations?

Vanguard College has two degree options for you to choose from.  The first degree is the Bachelor of Arts in Intercultural Studies.  This degree is designed to prepare you for and to open doors for ministry into creative access nations.  The second degree is the Bachelor of Arts in Theology (Intercultural Studies).  This degree is designed to prepare you for missions work in Canada or around the world.

These programs are designed for those with a passion to pursue God’s call for their life wherever it may lead them.  Both programs are designed for those planning to enter full-time/part-time vocational ministry or lay ministry or continuing studies at a graduate level. Areas of ministry could include education-discipleship and missions ministries of the local church or para-church organizations.

Your missions degree is  designed to provide extensive training, both in Biblical study and practical ministry. The emphasis is on education and experience in both discipleship and missions. This program includes completion of the one year certificate “His Majesty’s Service” discipleship/short term missions training program. The program requires a minimum of 134 credit hours for graduation

We believe that you will receive education not only in the classroom but also in real life ministry experiences  in places such as Canada’s rural North, Vancouver’s Urban Downtown East Side, church ministry across Alberta, and as far away as Southeast Asia.

Each of these experiences will reveal a unique part of God’s world to you and better equip you to leave a lasting impact on the world around you.  These ministry experiences can be tailored to suit your passions and can take you around the world from North Africa to South America.

Your Four Years:

  • Students in their first year will participate in ministry in local churches throughout Alberta, ten day missions trip to the Northwest Territories or Vancouver and spend 7 weeks in Asia ministering in countries such as Hong Kong, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia and China.
