First Class Studies. World Class Nation.

If you are not from Canada yourself, we believe you will love it here! From the freedom and standard of living Canadians enjoy, to the Tim Hortons coffee we miss while abroad, Canada is a great nation.

We have had students study with us from all over the world. Congo, Ukraine, Slovakia, Korea and Brazil are some recent nations represented on Campus. God is doing something amazing on our campus, and we want to share it. We welcome the world at Vanguard!

How International Students are Different

While we love international students, we also recognize that becoming one is not as simple as it may sound. Once on campus, an international student becomes a member of the Vanguard family like any other student, but getting here can be tricky.

Firstly, an international must come to Canada with enough money for tuition AND living expenses. In addition, there are Canadian Government regulations in place that will affect any foreign student coming into any institution in Canada.

These include, but are not limited to ...

  • obtaining a special immigration status for period of study
  • inability to work in Canada while studying, unless offered special employment by the institution where the student is enrolled
  • special arrangements for healthcare coverage while studying in Canada.

These factors are not insurmountable obstacles, but things to consider for certain. For more information on studying in Canada, visit the Canadian Government's informative site at ...

A DIFFERENT APPLICATION PROCESS

International students (those from outside North America) must complete a different application form than North American students. Things such as TOEFL scores are required as well.

AID FOR International Students - A MISSIONS APPROACH

Vanguard College has a special program in place for those international students who cannot afford tuition. A World Outreach Scholarship is made available to selected applicants who intend to return to their home country and share the Gospel there after they study with us. Sponsor families may also be arranged to house the student and cover living expenses. This is a special situation and is not offered to everyone. Quite often, a relationship already exists with the student (often formed on a Vanguard missions experience) and the potential of that student for ministry has been clearly witnessed by someone at Vanguard.

Any international students are welcome to apply, however. Simply CLICK HERE to download the World Outreach Scholarship Application Package.

Another Option - Study Where You Are

Vanguard is a great school, but there are many great schools out there. It may be a LOT more cost effective for you to study right where you are, then to study in Canada, with all the prohibitive living costs and travel costs that come along with that.

The PAOC GlobalED department has compiled a list of affiliated Bible Training Centres across the globe. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THIS LIST BY CLICKING HERE (PDF FORMAT) >>

The Pneuma Foundation has compiled a list of Pentecostal/Charismatic Bible Schools all over the world. We highly recommend you look into a school near you as well, so you can consider all of your options. The money you would spend on travel and living may be better spent furthering your ministry at home.

Of course, one more option would be to study online. Our Distance Learning partner, IBOLT, will be happy to serve you great Vanguard-certified content to right where you are - online or on CDROM. Visit IBOLT at www.ibolt.com.
