Church and Parachurch

Reaching and discipling youth in both small and large groups, in and outside of the church, is the focus of this course. Students will examine effective models of church and parachurch ministries including drop in centers, after school programming, campus clubs, camp ministry, conferences, and innovative outreach opportunities. Examination of the process of recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers for effective youth work, as well as the required administrative tasks to keep ministries functioning well, will be discussed. Throughout, the nurturing, leadership role of the youth pastor or youth worker in ministry will be a central and recurring theme.
