Where is Vanguard College located?

We are located in the Westwood neighbourhood of Edmonton, Alberta.

Is Vanguard College accredited?

Yes, Vanguard College is accredited with the Association of Biblical Higher Education, assuring consistency and quality throughout your education experience here.

How can I make my education cheaper?

We have TONS of scholarships and bursaries available for our students. Check them out HERE!

Is Vanguard College a denominational school?

Yes, Vanguard College is affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. We also have tracks in place with the Christian & Missionary Alliance (Alliance) and Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland & Labrador. Anyone is welcome to attend Vanguard College, and students from 13+ denominations are represented in the student body.

Can I study remotely?

Yes! Vanguard Online allows students to study almost any Vanguard College program from where you are, with greater flexibility so your studies can fit in your schedule.

Are there accommodations for students?

We have a limited number of spaces available in our student housing units, with priority given to 1st year students. Our campus pastors can help students find other nearby housing arrangements, whether you hope to stay with other Vanguard College students or not.

Are pets allowed in student housing?

No, pets are not allowed.

What's the difference between the Student Housing master suite and private room?

The washroom is the main difference. Students have their own rooms in each option, but the master suite comes with it's own washroom while students with the Private room option have a shared washroom.

Does Vanguard College offer Masters/Graduate level programs?

No, Vanguard only offers up to undergraduate level programs.

Is the After-Degree a Masters or Graduate Degree program?

No, this is a Bachelor's degree program to provide students who already have a degree in another field with the ability to take a Bachelor's degree at Vanguard College in as little as 2 years.

Has the school always been named Vanguard College?

No, at our inception in 1946 we were named Canadian Northwest Bible Institute (CNBI), and in 1965 it was changed to Northwest Bible College (NBC). We changed our name to Vanguard College in 2004 alongside the purchase of our current campus.

How many students attend Vanguard College?

We have approximately 200 students studying on-campus and online.

How does transfer credit work to and from Vanguard College?

Vanguard College considers transfer credit from a variety of accredited post-secondary institutions. For transferring to Vanguard, have your transcripts sent our way and our Registrar will determine what is transferable. For transferring Vanguard courses elsewhere, most courses will transfer to other institutions that recognize ABHE accreditation, but it is the receiving institution itself that decides what is transferable.

Are there benefits to being an alumni of Vanguard College?

Yes! Aside from the benefit of gaining a certificate, diploma, or degree from Vanguard College, you get the benefits of being an alumni.
